Lil Wayne References Jay Z In “Dusse” Song Preview

Lil Wayne names Jay Z on “Dusse,” according to a preview clip posted by the YMCMB emcee.

Lil Wayne’s preview of his new song “Dusse” contains a reference to Jay Z.

“Hov, fuck wit’ your boy,” Wayne says on the track.

No further details about the song have been released.

The name of the track also references a brand of alcohol that Jay Z has discussed in his raps. On Beyonce’s “Drunk In Love,” Jay Z says, “That Dusse is the shit.” Moreover, Jay Z has worked with the company and has taken promotional photographs for an ad.

Wayne’s reference to Jay Z follows years of a rumored feud between the two rappers.

In February 2012, Lil Wayne appeared to rap about Jay Z and Kanye West’s Watch The Throne.

“I met a bad red bone, I took the bitch home,” Wayne rapped during a show. “I asked her what she want to watch, she said surely not The Throne.”

He reportedly was upset with a Jay Z line off Watch The Throne’s “H.A.M.”

“I’m like, ‘Really, half-a-billi?’ / Nigga, really, you got baby money / Keep it real with niggas, niggas ain’t got my lady money,” lines that some took as a shot towards Cash Money’s head, Birdman, who also goes by Baby.

Wayne also appeared to respond to this on “I’m Good” off Tha Carter IV.

“I got your baby money,” Wayne raps on the track. “Kidnap your bitch, get that ‘how much you love your lady’ money.”

In June 2013, Jay Z appeared to address Lil Wayne on Magna Carta…Holy Grail’s “La Familia.”

“Wanna kidnap wifey,” Jay raps on the song. “Good luck with that bruh / You must gonna hide your whole family / What you think we wearing black for / Ready for that war / Ready for that war ready / You ain’t ready, yo, you radio,” spits Jay.

In July 2013, Jay Z spoke about a bothced Roc-A-Fella deal with Lil Wayne.

“This is the first time I ever told this truth,” Jay-Z revealed. “The truth is after I had a meeting with Wayne—I had a relationship with Baby, when I used to go to New Orleans I would meet up with him…So, I felt it was only right to call him. I called him out of respect like ‘Yo, I was talking to Wayne. Just to let you know. Boom boom boom.’ So, after that I think we received a letter at our office for like torturous interference from a lawyer…And it all just went from there. I would rather lose that situation and do the right thing than the opposite. Cause I think I could have signed him. I could have signed him and then told him after. I did the right thing and I’m cool with that decision.”

In March 2014, Wayne addressed his appreciation for Jay Z.

“I loved Jay so much,” he said at the time. “And then at that time I was super young and I was still—I was a fanatic of Jay Z…So, when he said he was retiring, I looked—I was like a basketball player looking up at Kobe or looking up at Jordan…LeBron. Somebody gotta step up. And you know, I felt like you said, I felt like nobody cared about what I said, so when you’re that person then what you say means the world to you.”

During that interview, Wayne also spoke about the botched Roc deal.

“It wasn’t like Jay was reaching out for me or nothing,” Lil Wayne said. “Like needed me, ‘I need—I want you over here.’ He expressed interest. And I took that and you know me…I was on the first thing smoking. So, I went over there and we met. I met with Jay. But the history turned out to be where history is.”

Drake wasn’t allowed into the Miami Heat’s post-Game 7 locker room victory party

Written by kCAne MarkCO on . Posted in Blog, News

WHERE YA REAL FRIENDS AT? NOT IN THE HEAT CELEBRATING LOCKER ROOM! COME ON MAN, THEY COULDA LET DRIZZY IN!

Platinum-selling recording artist Drake is a close personal friend of LeBron James. Heck, he’s more than that; James himself once called Drake “real family.” Combine that with the fact that the singer/rapper once famously called the Miami Heat the best team ever two months after they had watched the Dallas Mavericks celebrate an NBA championship on their home floor, and clearly, his Heatles bona fides have long since been established. (Step your game up, Bieber.)

So after the Heat finished off a 95-88 win over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 7 of the 2013 NBA Finals to lock down their second straight NBA championship, Drake made his way from his courtside seat toward the victorious home team’s locker room, where he could join his longtime pal in celebrating the Heat’s triumph. Just one problem: He didn’t have a locker room pass.

C’mon, security guard. You don’t really want a problem like that. You gon’ hype Drake up and make him catch a bohahahahahahahahahaha.
Seriously, though, shouts out to that security guard. If you don’t have the right credential, they shouldn’t let you in there, man. People are trying to work and/or shower one another with champagne and/or get drunk and/or all of the above. Let the professionals be professionals, for Pete’s sake! (Also, if every single media member present last night didn’t greet every other media member present by saying, “I AM media,” then every single media member present blew it.)
Still, I can appreciate that it stinks to not be included in something; as someone who spends a lot of time on the Internet, I can relate to that, Drake. (You and me, we’re not so different, when you really think about it.) So, in the interest of inclusion, here’s what you (and the rest of us non-VIPs) missed in the locker room:

Sure, that seems like fun, but your clothes would have gotten all wet and gross, and nobody wants that. See? Everything happens for a reason, Drake.
Plus, you got to chill with your pals later on at the club anyway. All’s well that ends well after starting with a bracing dose of humility.
Lastly, if the Spurs had wound up winning, I’m pretty sure Drake would have been kept away from their celebration, too, but for completely different reasons.

Skylar Diggins Signs With Roc Nation Sports

And Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports continues to build its roster. First it was New York Yankee Robinson Cano who signed on, and now we’ve learned via Roc Nation’s Instagram account that recently-drafted WNBA player Skylar Diggins has joined the R-O-C. It’s a (not-very) secret society, all they ask is trust.Screen-Shot-2013-04-25-at-12.44.33-PM
