Rest In Peace to a fiery soul

Horrific news has come out of the A$AP camp today, as via several reports from core members of the A$AP Mob, we have learned that their founder and unapologetic leader, A$AP Yams, has passed away. Though the cause of death has not yet been made public, there are no early indicators of foul play. Yams, real name Steven Rodriguez, was 26 years old.

Hip-Hop has rapidly poured out its condolences and well-wishes for the entire A$AP Family, including Drake, Action Bronson, Travi$ Scott and more. Yams was more than just the guy who started A$AP. He was deeply entrenched in several regional Hip-Hop movements, and was earnestly working to help bring guys like Aston Matthews, Joey Fatts and more to the forefront.

Rest In Peace. Always Strive And Prosper.

Master P Offering Reward To Help Solve MurderOver the holiday, Master P gave out bikes to children who have lost family members to violence.

To provide assistance in an unsolved murder that will soon turn into a cold case, Master P has offered a reward to help solve the murder of Charles Fambrough. Fambrough, who was 22-years-old at the time of his death, was killed on Christmas Day two years ago.

The No Limit Records founder didn’t reveal the amount of the reward, but according to Louisville, Kentucky-based WHAS 11, Master P did state that he’s willing to offer “as much as necessary.”

“Somebody come forward [or] whoever got anything to do with this or you know somebody,” Master P said during an interview with WHAS 11. “Somebody sitting around bragging at home thinking it’s a joke, it’s not a joke. You took somebody up from somebody’s loved ones that really miss that person [that] should be here with their family.”

In addition to offering a reward to help solve Fambrough’s murder, Master P also gave out bikes to children who have lost family members to violence. He was joined by Fambrough’s fiancé, Megan Brown.

Earlier this year, Master P reportedly paid the funeral expenses for a 12-year-old boy killed in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Queens-emcee also confirms appearances by T.I. and Fred The Godson.

In a recent conversation with RapUpTV, LL Cool Jconfirmed that his upcoming project, G.O.A.T. 2 will feature a guest appearance by Eminem. “Me and Em have a song,” says the Queens-emcee. “He recently just let me hear his verse and it’s crazy. He’s chainsawing shit. It’s good. I think people are going to be pleasantly surprised when they hear me and him on a record together. This is the first time we ever did something together.”

LL Cool J also revealed that T.I. and Fred The Godson are also featured on G.O.A.T. 2, which currently does not have a release date.

“We just got together just talking, vibing,” he said about his collaboration with T.I. “He had an idea that he wanted to send me. I thought it was a crazy idea and we just collaborated and put something together that I think people are gonna bug out on. It’s gonna be trippy. I got a lot of young gunners on this album—a lot of real hot young gunners. People that that are hungry and want to make the best music. It’s about the beats and the bars and the rhymes. It’s about being current and fresh and riveting—not a bunch of old tired 95 nugget ring bullshit. It’s newness. It’s fresh.”

In 2013, LL Cool J released Authentic which debuted at #23 on the Billboard Top 200, selling roughly 14,000 copies in its first week.

Cleveland Police Union Demands Apology After Browns Player Protest

The topic of police brutality invades the sports world once again.

Professional athletes have been very vocal in expressing their displeasure with police conduct as of late, along with the rest of the nation. Yesterday, two of Ohio’s NFL teams and division rivals the Cleveland Browns faced off against the Cincinnati Bengals, but prior to kickoff, all eyes were on Browns wide receiver Andrew Hawkins. The wide out approached the field sporting a t-shirt over his jersey that read “Justice for Tamir Rice – John Crawford” on the front and “The Real Battle of Ohio” on the back.Tamir Rice is the 12-year-old Cleveland boy who was shot dead by police in November after he was seen playing with a toy gun in a local park. His death was ruled a homicide by the coroner.

Similarly, 22-year-old John Crawford was shot and killed by police inside a Beavercreek, Ohio Wal-Mart this past August after he picked an air gun which was sold at the store. Though some might have appreciated Hawkins gesture, the President of the Cleveland police union, Jeff Follmer, took offense and demanded an apology from the Browns organization.

Jeff Follmer:

“It’s pretty pathetic when athletes think they know the law, “They should stick to what they know best on the field. The Cleveland Police protect and serve the Browns stadium, and the Browns organization owes us an apology.”

The Cleveland Browns released a statement standing by Hawkins and his freedom of self-expression.

“We have great respect for the Cleveland Police Department and the work that they do to protect and serve our city. We also respect our players’ rights to project their support and bring awareness to issues that are important to them if done so in a responsible manner.”

The response is strikingly similar to the St. Louis area bar that boycotted its hometownRams after several approached the field with their hands up, in protest of the Michael Brown shooting in nearby Ferguson.
